Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- No. 3 Lindsey Wilson women's tennis remained unbeaten in the Mid-South Conference with a 7-2 win over No. 19 Cumberland (Tenn.) today at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders captured all three doubles points to take control of the match and won four of the six singles matches to win its 48th consecutive regular-season conference match.
Lindsey Wilson (7-2, 3-0 in the MSC) dropped just four games in the three doubles matches en route to the 3-0 lead.
Fiona Curty and Chiara Epifani swept their match at No. 2 doubles while Minja Gligic and Jovana Peric claimed an 8-2 win over Ainhoa Garrido and Marianela Landi in the top-seeded match. Lina Sachica Ramos and Lucia Mora Diaz also won by an 8-2 score in the third-seeded match.
The Blue Raiders needed just two singles matches to claim the win over the Phoenix (10-8, 2-2).
Curty defeated Landi 6-0, 6-1 in the third-seeded match to give Lindsey Wilson the 4-0 lead. Peric -- who was named MSC Women's Tennis Player of the Week earlier today -- swept Belen Salazar 6-0, 6-0 in the second-seeded match to give the Blue Raiders the team win.
Ramos and Diaz also picked up singles wins in straight sets to give Lindsey Wilson the 7-2 win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action 2 p.m. CT as the Blue Raiders host Pikeville (Ky.) at Baughman Tennis Complex.
