Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis remained perfect in Mid-South Conference play with a 9-0 sweep of visiting Pikeville (Ky.) tonight under the lights at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders (8-2, 4-0 in the MSC) won their season-high sixth straight match while dropping just 10 games during the match.
For the fifth time this season, Lindsey Wilson won all three doubles points in a match to take a commanding lead.
After Pikeville forfeited the No. 3 doubles match, Fiona Curty and Chiara Epifani won their second-seeded match over Cailee Marcum and Camila Agudelo 8-0. Minja Gligic and Jovana Peric posted an 8-2 win over Samantha Fraser and Andrea Hurtado in the No. 1 doubles match for the 3-0 advantage.
Pikeville (7-6, 1-4) opened the singles matches trailing 4-0 after forfeiting No. 6 singles.
Curty clinched the team win by posting a 6-0, 6-0 win over Marcum in the No. 3 singles match.
Gligic also won 6-0, 6-0 in the top-seeded match while Peric, Lucia Mora Diaz and Lina Sachica Ramos also claimed straight-sets wins.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Friday, April 13, as the Blue Raiders host Campbellsville (Ky.) in a MSC match at Baughman Tennis Complex.
