Box Score PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 9-0 victory against Shawnee State (Ohio) Saturday in a Mid-South Conference match at the Dr. William E. Daehler Tennis Center.
The Blue Raiders (10-2, 6-0 MSC) won their season-high eighth straight match while not dropping game during the match.
For the sixth time this season, Lindsey Wilson won all three doubles points in a match to take a commanding lead.
Fiona Curty and Chiara Epifani got the first point of the match for the Blue Raiders defeating Shawnee State's (2-17, 0-6 MSC) Caleigh O'Neal and Jessica Willard 8-0 in the second-seeded match.
Minja Gligic and Jovana Peric posted an 8-0 victory over Shelby Hay and Abby Brinkman in the No. 1 doubles match. Lucia Mora Diaz and Lina Sachica Ramos won their third-seeded match over Michaela Garner and Jillian Kelly 8-0 for the 3-0 advantage.
Gligic defeated Hay in straight-sets 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles flight to give Lindsey Wilson a 4-0 lead in the match.
Peric clinched the match for the Blue Raiders with a straight-set win 6-0, 6-0 over Brinkman in the second-seeded match.
Curty, Sachica Ramos, Mora Diaz and Gabriella Pedroza all claimed straight-set wins in the match.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on April 20 with the first day of the Mid-South Conference Tournament in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
