Box Score NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. -- No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis swept host Georgetown (Ky.) today 9-0 at the Top Seed Tennis Club.
The match -- that was originally scheduled for March 28 -- was moved indoors today to avoid another postponement.
The Blue Raiders (4-2, 2-0 in the Mid-South Conference) swept the three doubles matches losing a combined eight games. Georgetown -- who is receiving votes in the national poll -- falls to 8-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play with the loss.
Minja Gligic and Jovana Peric opened the scoring with an 8-1 win over Amanda Moore and Lauren Fazenbaker in the top-seeded doubles match.
Lina Sachica Ramos and Lucia Mora Diaz won at the third-seeded match while Fiona Curty and Chiara Epifani claimed a win in the second-seeded match.
Curty and Diaz won the first two singles matches to ensure the team victory. Curty defeated Moore 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 3 singles match while Diaz won 6-1, 6-0 over Madelyn Kauffman in the fifth-seeded match.
Peric, Ramos and Gligic all claimed straight-sets wins while Gabriella Pedroza won her match over Emily Novak in a superset third set.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 3, as the Blue Raiders host No. 11-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
