Box Score PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis hit the road for a Mid-South Conference matchup with Pikeville (Ky.) this afternoon and were able to defeat the Bears 9-0.
The Blue Raiders (6-5, 4-0) took the first three-points of the match when they were able to sweep the three doubles matches.
Lucia Mora and Steffi McDonald claimed the first point of the match with an 8-0 win over Camila Agudelo and Riley Mullins.
Gabriella Pedroza and Laci Lee then defeated Ashton Jones and Sahoka Nagai 8-3 as No. 17-ranked Alexandra Parra and Lina Sachica took down Andrea Hurtado and Charlie Njenhuis in the top-seeded doubles match by a final of 8-1.
No. 29-ranked Sachica opened single play with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Njenhuis as Mora then tallied the decisive fifth point of the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Agudelo.
No. 24-ranked Parra defeated Hurtado in the top-seeded singles match 6-1, 6-3. McDonald took down Mullins 6-0, 6-2 as Lee picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win over Nagai.
Pedroza completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jones.
The Blue Raiders return to the court tomorrow at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex for senior day in a match against Shawnee State (Ohio) set to begin at 2 p.m. CT.
