With the win, Lindsey Wilson claims the outright Mid-South Conference regular season championship -- the program's 15th MSC title and eighth straight. The Blue Raiders -- who extended their conference winning streak to 80 straight matches with today's win -- earn the conference's top seed in this weekend's tournament.

No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson (8-5) won all three doubles points.

Lucia Mora and Steffi McDonald earned the first point of the day with an 8-2 win over Marianela Landi and Ana Maria Collazos in the second-seeded match.

In a nationally-ranked battle, 18th-ranked Alexandra Parra and Lina Sachica upset seventh-ranked Jessica Hernandez and Ainhoa Garijo Garrido 8-3 in the top-seeded match for a 2-0 Lindsey Wilson lead.

Carla Alibert and Gabriella Pedroza secured the third point in a tiebreak beating Kylie Humphrey and Stefanie Navaratnam 9-7.

Lindsey Wilson's Sachica and Parra scored the first two wins of singles to give Lindsey Wilson the five points necessary to take the team win.

Sachica -- ranked 33rd in the NAIA in singles -- upset 11th-ranked Garrido 6-4, 6-0 in the second-seeded singles match to give Lindsey Wilson a 4-0 lead.

In another ranked battle, 25th-ranked Parra took down 27th-ranked Hernandez 6-4, 6-3 in the top-seeded match to secure the team win.

McDonald and Mora each won their singles matches ahead of Alibert and Pedroza retiring in their matches to send Lindsey Wilson to the 7-2 win.

Lindsey Wilson awaits the conclusion of the opening round of this weekend's conference tournament to see who they will face in the tournament semifinals. As the top-seed, the Blue Raiders earn an opening-round bye.

The Mid-South Conference is scheduled to release the tournament bracket on Tuesday.
