OWENSBORO, Ky. -- Top-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's tennis led just once today and at the most important time, beating fourth-seeded Cumberland (Tenn.) 5-4 in the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinals at Owensboro Tennis Complex.

The 14th-ranked Blue Raiders trailed 2-1 after doubles and 3-2 and 4-3 during singles play but rebounded to win to advance to the tournament finals next Saturday in Bowling Green, Ky.

Lucia Mora won the final three games of her match to clinch the win and extend Lindsey Wilson's winning streak over MSC foes to 81 straight matches.

Trailing the 21st-ranked Phoenix 4-3, Lina Sachica -- ranked 33rd in the NAIA in singles -- won a second-set tiebreaker over 27th-ranked Jessica Hernandez to force a third set in the second-seeded match. Hernandez broke early and led 5-3 in the decisive set before Sachica closed with a fury.

Sachica won the final four games of the match to pull the Blue Raiders even at 4-4 in the team match with a 1-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5 win. Sachica improves to 9-3 this season in singles paly

While Sachica was evening the match, Mora -- facing Marianela Landi in the third-seeded match -- had her sights set on sending Lindsey Wilson to the championship.

After splitting the first two sets and the first six games of the third set, Mora took a page from Sachica's playbook and sprinted through the finish line. At 3-3 in the third, Mora inched in front holding serve for a 4-3 lead. She fought off a pair of game points to ultimately break Landi's service to take a 5-3 advantage.

Mora closed out the team win on her second match point as Landi's shot sailed long to give Lindsey Wilson the comeback win. Mora has won a team-high 11 singles matches this season in 13 tries.

Cumberland seized control of the match winning the top two doubles matches.

Landi and Ana Maria Collazos defeated Mora and Steffi McDonald 8-3 in the second-seeded match for the 1-0 lead. The Phoenix doubled their lead in a ranked matchup at the top-seeded doubles match. Seventh-ranked Ainhoa Garijo Garrido and Jessica Hernandez sprinted past 18th ranked Sachica and Alexandra Parra 8-4 for the 2-0 advantage.

In the first of several critical matches on the day for the Blue Raiders, Gabriella Pedroza and Carla Alibert salvaged a point at the third-seeded doubles match. The Lindsey Wilson duo outlasted Kylie Humphrey and Stefanie Navaratnam 9-8, winning the tiebreaker 7-4.

McDonald pulled Lindsey Wilson even for the first time today with a 6-2, 6-2 win Dmitrovic. McDonald improves to 9-1 on the season with the win at 6-0 playing in the No. 4 spot.

Humphrey pushed Cumberland back in front in the fifth-seeded match with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Alibert to give the Phoenix a 3-2 lead. Pedroza answered with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the sixth-seeded match over Collazos.

In the first of two ranked matches, 11th ranked Garrido nudged the Phoenix back in front with a 6-4, 6-3 win over 25th-ranked Parra in the top-seeded match.

The win was the last of the day for Cumberland thanks to the heroics of Sachica and Mora to close out the win.

Lindsey Wilson has some time to relish the semifinal win thanks to a dreadful weather forecast. The tournament championship match has been postponed until 10 a.m. CT on Saturday, April 27 where the Blue Raiders face the winner of second-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) and third-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) at Kereiakes Park.
