Box Score 2 MARION, Ind. -- Lindsey Wilson women's tennis suffered a pair of setbacks today at the Indiana Wesleyan Invite at Sutter Tennis Complex.
The fourth-ranked Blue Raiders (5-5) lost today's first match to No. 18-ranked Union (Ky.) 5-1 and dropped the nightcap to host and No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan 5-0.
Lindsey Wilson has lost four straight matches -- all to ranked foes. Eight of the 10 opponents the Blue Raiders have faced this season have been ranked.
Lucia Mora and Steffi McDonald won the only match of the day with an 8-4 win over Union's Christina Schoener and Mai Kitashita in the second-seeded doubles match.
The Bulldogs captured two of the three doubles wins and won the top three singles matches to claim the 5-1 win.
The top two singles matches featured ranked foes. No. 21-ranked Isidora Petkovic def. 24th-ranked Alexandra Parra 6-3, 7-6 (5) in the top-seeded match while 30th-ranked Ljiljana Pajcin outlasted No. 29 Lina Sachica 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
Indiana Wesleyan won all three doubles matches and ended the match with wins at five and six singles.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 10, as the Blue Raiders travel to Pikeville (Ky.) for a Mid-South Conference match.
