HARROGATE, Tenn. -- No. 13-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis stumbled today in its season-opening match with a 6-1 loss to Montreat (N.C.) at the Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.) Tennis Complex.

The Blue Raiders managed just one singles win -- coming from 31st-ranked Lucia Mora in the third-seeded singles match.

Montreat grabbed a 1-0 lead after winning two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Salome Sposetti and Carla Alibert won the lone Lindsey Wilson doubles match with a 6-2 win over Annika Beckmann and Sophia Rojas in the third-seeded match.

Montreat won at the second-seeded match and ultimately seized the doubles point as Stephanie Petit and Valerie Quiceno upset 14th-ranked Mora and Alexandra Parra 6-4 in the top-seeded match.

Mora evened the match at 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Sophia Rojas.

Montreat pulled off the upset with five straight singles wins -- including two victories in supersets.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Friday, Feb. 19, as the Blue Raiders travel to the Georgia Gwinnett Invite in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
