Box Score PULASKI, Tenn. -- No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis ran its winning streak to a season-high five matches today with a 7-0 win over Martin Methodist (Tenn.).
The Blue Raiders (5-1, 2-0 in the Mid-South Conference) dropped just one game in doubles play to take the 1-0 team lead.
After the RedHawks defaulted in the third-seeded match, Reshma Challarapu and Salome Sposetti secured the doubles point with a 6-0 win over Margaret Lucas and Abbey Rumble in the second-seeded match. Challarapu and Sposetti improve to 4-1 this season with their fourth straight win.
Alexandra Parra and Lucia Mora -- ranked No. 14 in the NAIA in doubles -- completed the doubles sweep with a 6-1 win over Emely Castro and Leovanna Viamonte in the top-seeded match.
In singles play, Martin Methodist (0-3, 0-1 MSC) defaulted the sixth-seeded match to extend the Blue Raiders lead to 2-0.
Mora pushed the lead to 3-0 with a dominating 6-1, 6-0 win in the second-seeded match. She improves to 5-1 on the season with the win.
Challarapu joined Mora with a straight-sets win in the third-seeded match to give Lindsey Wilson the necessary team points to claim the win. Challarapu improves to 4-2 on the season with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Viamonte.
With the match in hand, Rachdanone -- playing for the first time this season as the Blue Raiders' top seed -- Sposetti, and Yuno Oe each picked up wins to cap the 7-0 victory.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Friday, March 19, as the Blue Raiders host Bethel (Tenn.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
