Box Score GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis rank its winning streak to eight straight and remained unbeaten in the Mid-South Conference with a 7-0 win at Georgetown (Ky.) today at the Lackey Tennis Center.
The Blue Raiders (8-1, 5-0) captured the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles matches and swept singles play to secure their fifth straight 7-0 win -- all coming in conference play.
Parisa Rachdanone and Carla Alibert improved to 4-0 this season in doubles action with a dominant 6-1 win in the third-seeded match. Reshma Challarapu and Salome Sposetti won their sixth straight as a tandem in the second-seeded match to claim the doubles point.
Alibert, Challarapu, and Sposetti each dropped just one game in their singles matches. As a team, Lindsey Wilson surrendered just 15 total games during singles play.
Alibert started the run with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Alexandra Gregory in the sixth-seeded match. Alibert is 2-0 this season in singles, including 1-0 in MSC play.
Lucia Mora -- ranked 36th in the NAIA -- gave the Blue Raiders a 3-0 team lead with her 6-3, 6-0 win over Sam Spady in the second-seeded match. Mora is 8-1 this season in singles, including a perfect 4-0 in conference play.
Challarapu clinched the team match for the Blue Raiders with the 6-1, 6-0 win in the fourth-seeded match. She has won five straight singles matches to improve to 7-2 this season.
Sposetti, Rachdanone, and reining MSC Women's Tennis Player of the Week Alexandra Parra also claimed straight-sets wins.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 25, as the Blue Raiders host Campbellsville (Ky.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
