Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team fought through the warm conditions on Friday afternoon, defeating Shawnee State 6-1 at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders have now won three consecutive matches to improve to 11-2 overall and 8-1 in Mid-South Conference play.
The doubles portion of the match is where the home side garnered the first mark of the contest.
Reshma Challarapu and Salome Sposetti made quick work of the Bears' Lacy Urban and Claire Carruthers, shutting out their opponent 6-0. Then, Carla Alibert and Parisa Rachdanone helped Lindsey Wilson tally the first point of the match with a 6-1 win in their doubles dual.
Alexandra Parra and Lucia Mora -- ranked No. 11 in the NAIA -- served their way past Sara Martin and Allison Romito 6-1 to sweep the doubles competition for the Blue Raiders.
In singles action, No. 36 Mora and No. 39 Rachdanone put Lindsey Wilson on the cusp of taking the match with 6-0, 6-0, and 6-1, 6-0 victories, respectively.
Challarapu sealed the deal with a straight-set defeat of Urban.
Sposetti and Yuno Oe would follow up with back-to-back wins in their respective singles duals.
Shawnee State's lone point in the match came off a default victory from Sarah Lemaster.
The Blue Raiders will complete their regular season on Monday, April 12 with a home dual against Thomas More at 1 p.m. CT. -- rescheduled from Saturday, April 10.
