CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The No. 2-seed Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team advanced to the 2020-21 Men's Soccer Mid-South Conference Tournament Semifinals after defeating Life 2-0 in the quarterfinal match Friday afternoon.
Cyrus Harmon led the Blue Raiders on the night, scoring twice, shooting three times in the game, with three shots on goal. As a team, the Blue Raiders outshot the Running Eagles 19-13 with an 8-2 shot on goal mark.
Harmon, who was just recently named MSC Player of the Year, put on a player of the year type performance tonight after he opened the scoring in the 15th minute with an overhead kick in the box. Lay Cho, who recorded the first assist of his career with the throw, found Harmon in the box who flipped backward to finish the outrageous chance. Life could not find any offense in the remainder of the half and as both teams headed for halftime, the goal from Harmon proved to be the difference between both sides.
Harmon continued his scoring efficiency into the second half as he cut his dribble into the box from the left-hand side of the field and finished the shot into the far corner for the 2-0 lead and eventual final scoreline. After the two goals tonight, Harmon has now scored 12 goals on the season, the third-most in the Mid-South Conference.
The Blue Raiders return to action tomorrow, April 10 at 3 p.m. CT to face Cumberlands (Ky.) in the semifinal match.
