Box Score PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team picked up a 6-1 win over Pikeville (Ky.) on Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Raiders won every match they competed in at the event after dropping the No. 6 singles match by default.
Lindsey Wilson (9-2, 6-1 MSC) swept all three doubles matches on the day over the Bears (3-7, 1-6 MSC).
Reshma Challarapu and Salome Sposetti opened the action with a win over Luisa Diaz and Andrea Hurtado on a 6-4 result. Lucia Mora and Carla Alibert then teamed up to defeat Gabriela Guacanes and Camila Agudelo 6-1 before Yuno Oe and Parisa Rachdanone won on a 6-2 result over Riley Mullins and Erica Metzger.
Challarapu opened single play with a 1-0 win over Diaz who was forced to retire early in the match. Mora (No. 36) then cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Agudelo.
Sposetti then secured the win for LWC when she scored the decisive fourth point on a 6-1, 6-1 win over Guacanes. Rachdanone later added a 6-3, 6-0 win over Hurtado as Yuno Oe closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Mullins.
Women's tennis returns to play on April 9 when they welcome Shawnee State to the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex at 1 p.m. CT.
