Box Score HENDERSON, Tenn. -- No. 8-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis began a four-match road streak today with a 6-1 win over host Freed-Hardeman University.
The Blue Raiders (16-1, 7-0 in the Mid-South Conference) extend their winning streak to 13 straight matches with the win.
Lindsey Wilson opened the day by capturing the doubles point. The Blue Raiders won on courts two and three to take the 1-0 lead entering singles play.
Reshma Challarapu and Darija Mladenovic won in the second-seeded match 6-1 over Julianna Alves and Delfina Rodriguez. Salome Sposetti and Anastasiia Ivanchenko quickly followed with a 6-1 win over their own on court three to give Lindsey Wilson the doubles point.
Ivanchenko, Mladenovic, and Sposetti all won their matches in straight sets.
Sposetti (14-0) and Mladenovic (13-0) remain unbeaten on the season in singles. Sposetti defeated Savannah Corbitt 6-0, 6-0 on court six while Mladenovic beat Rodriguez 6-1, 6-0 in the fourth-seeded match.
Ivanchenko improved to 11-1 on the season in singles with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Hannah Pearce in the fifth-seeded match.
Challarapu and Lucia Mora each picked up wins in three sets.
Challarapu beat Alves 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 in the third-seeded match while Mora knocked off Mia Lancaster 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 on court two. Alexandra Parra suffered a super-set tiebreaker loss to Dayana Ortega in the top-seeded match for the Lions' (2-7, 1-6) lone point.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday as the Blue Raiders travel to Bethel (Tenn.) in McKenzie, Tennessee.
