Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Top-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's tennis swept fifth-seeded Tennessee Southern 4-0 on Saturday in the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinals at the Warren County Tennis and Sports Facility.
The Blue Raiders (21-2) advance to tomorrow's championship match against the winner of second-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) and third-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.). Sunday's match is slated for noon CT.
Lindsey Wilson opened the day with a pair of 6-2 wins in the second and third-seeded doubles matches to take the doubles point for the 1-0 team lead.
Parisa Rachdanone and Anastasiia Ivanchenko won their 12th straight match with a win over Abbey Rumble and Victoria Sanches on court three. The duo is now 12-1 this season in doubles play.
Reshma Challarapu and Darija Mladenovic secured the doubles point for the Blue Raiders with a win on court two over Emely Castro and Margaret Lucas. The win marks the sixth this season in as many tries for Challarapu and Mladenovic.
Alexandra Parra and Lucia Mora's match on court one was halted after the Blue Raiders claimed the first two wins.
Salome Sposetti opened singles play for the Blue Raiders, doubling Lindsey Wilson's team lead to 2-0 with a win in the sixth-seeded match. She improves to 18-0 this season with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sanches. The win is tied for the eighth-most wins in a single season for an individual and just two away from matching the most wins in singles play in a single season.
Mladenovic and Rachdanone followed Sposetti's lead with straight-set wins in their matches to give Lindsey Wilson the team win.
Mladenovic beat Sara Teorode De Morias 6-2, 6-2 in the third-seeded match for the 3-0 lead. Mladenovic improves to 16-2 this season in singles action.
Rachdanone used a 6-4, 6-3 win over Castro to close out the match on court four. Rachdanone is 13-4 this season in singles.
The remainder of the matches were halted once Lindsey Wilson reached the four points necessary for the team win.
