Women's Tennis sweeps Bethel 7-0 on Sunday

McKENZIE, Tenn. -- Lindsey Wilson women's tennis extended its winning streak to 14 straight today with a 7-0 win over host Bethel (Tenn.).

The No. 8-ranked Blue Raiders (17-1, 8-0 in the Mid-South Conference) remain atop the MSC standing entering the final week of the regular season this week.

Lindsey Wilson won the doubles point after winning matches on courts two and three.

Anastasiia Ivanchenko and Salome Sposetti did not drop a game in the third-seeded win over Samantha Jo Stone and Lexi Daniels while Parisa Rachdanone and Darija Mladenovic beat Sophia Vasconcellos and Anabella Baralt 6-1 in the second-seeded match.

While the Blue Raiders secured the doubles point, Alexandra Parra and Lucia Mora suffered their first doubles loss of the season in the top-seeded match. The Lindsey Wilson duo entered today's match 13-0 in doubles action.

Lindsey Wilson did not drop a singles match en route to the 7-0 win.

Mladenovic opened with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Vasconcellos in the third-seeded match to extend the team lead to 2-0. Mladenovic improves to 14-0 this season in singles action.

Mora -- ranked 32nd in the NAIA in singles -- pushed the Blue Raiders to a 3-0 lead with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 win over Marina Zotelli in the second-seeded match. Parra -- the reigning NAIA Women's Tennis Player of the Week -- secured the decisive point on court one with a superset win over Tijana Svitlica in a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8) win.

Ivanchenko needed three sets to win on court four while Rachdanone and Sposetti each won by scores of 6-1, 6-0 to close out the sweep. The trio improve to a combined 36-2 this season in singles. Sposetti is unbeaten with a 15-0 mark.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 5, as the Blue Raiders travel to No. 10-ranked Union (Ky.) in Barbourville, Ky.
