Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – At the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex, the 13th-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team collected an unblemished "Senior Day" victory by knocking off Shawnee State University, 7-0. The dominant performance bumps the Blue Raiders' win-streak up to eight matches.
The competition flew by in doubles with Heyka Rodriguez and Mayra Gisone (8-2) opening up the match with a 6-0 shutout. Reshma Challarapu and Darija Mladenovic (8-0) checked in next with a 6-0 decision of their own, ultimately securing the first team point of the day for the home side.
Elsewhere in doubles, Anastasiia Ivanchenko and Parisa Rachdanone (5-2) garnered their sixth win of the year as a duo, upending the Bears' Claire Carruthers and Lacey Urban, 6-1.
Then, later in the contest, Challarapu (7-3) began singles action with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph, followed by a two-set win from Mladenovic (10-0) – 6-0, 6-1 – and another straight-set result by Salome Sposetti (7-7) – 6-1, 6-0 – to clinch the conference clash for Lindsey Wilson.
Rachdanone (10-3), Ivanchenko (7-5), and Gisone (5-4) each picked up additional team points by means of straight-set decisions to cement the Blue Raiders' win.
The locals continue their schedule on April 6 at the University of Pikeville before visiting 9th-ranked University of the Cumberlands on April 8.
