Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Second-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's tennis came back from a 3-1 deficit against No. 3 seed Campbellsville in the Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Semifinals to win 4-3.
With the victory, the Blue Raiders advance to Sunday's championship match where they will face top-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) at Noon CT.
Mayra Gisone and Heyka Rodriguez defeated Campbellsville's Sarah Bleake Mitchel and Ariadna Perez 6-3 at No. 3 doubles. The Tigers would answer back winning No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Anastasiia Ivanchenko evened the match up with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Mitchel at No. 5 singles. The Tigers then regained the lead when Oriana Espinoza defeated Parisa Rachdanone 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4 singles. Salome Sposetti fell to Angela Mendoza 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles as the Blue Raiders trailed 3-1.
Gisone started the Lindsey Wilson comeback with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 6 singles over Claire Asprella. Darija Mladenovic tied the match with a 6-4, 7-5 win against Perez at No. 2 singles.
In the decisive match, Reshma Challarapu (No. 36 in the ITA) secured the victory for the Blue Raiders with a three-set victory. After dropping the first set, Chllarapu won set two over Miru Nonaka 6-2. She then clinched the victory for the Blue Raiders with a 6-2 victory in the third set to complete the comeback.
