COLUMBIA, Ky. – This past weekend, the Lindsey Wilson junior varsity volleyball team split a pair matches between two Mid-South Conference opponents.
The Blue Raiders fell short versus Bethel (Tenn.) on Friday before bouncing back to sweep Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) on Saturday and improve to 6-2 overall.
Against the Wildcats,
Briley Burns and hit .353 with six kills and zero errors, and
Natalie Wandrie and
Gracie Friedrich combined for 11 kills. On defense,
Haleigh Wood recorded a team-high eight digs, while Burns and
Ahalia Rameriz chipped in five, apiece.
Carli Dragoo and Rameriz each contributed a team-best 10 assists.
Less than 24 hours later, Lindsey Wilson returned to Biggers Sports Center with a strong performance to defeat the Lions in straight sets, 25-16 and 25-20.
The Blue Raiders hit .489 with 25 kills and only two attack errors, paced by Wandrie's eight kills and a half dozen from
Baleigh Young.
From the service line, Lindsey Wilson put down nine aces, including three from Rameriz, who also led the team with 14 assists.
Defensively, Wood produced a match-high 11 digs.
The Blue Raiders return to action at 5 p.m. CST on Tuesday, October 1 at Cumberland (Tenn.). Lindsey Wilson's next home match is slated for 7 p.m. CST on Tuesday, October 15 versus Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.).
