Track & Field Competes at Commodore Challenge on Saturday

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track and field teams will be competing Saturday for their indoor meet at the Commodore Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee.

Action gets underway at 8 a.m. CT with the field events beginning with the high jump. The first track events take place at 9:25 a.m. CT with the 5,000 meter.

The Blue Raiders look to continue their success at the Commodore Challenge as they previously broke multiple school records back in December for their first meet. Mid-South Conference athlete of the week Cambell Rawlings looks to keep his momentum when competing for the running events. Kai Averyn will be competing in the hurdles event. Assistant Coach Alexia DeHaven looks to keep her guys focused and aggressive when they. Hannah Reid, Ta'shya Cramer, Kyra Engel, and Kayly Guthrie will try to outdo their previous performance and set another school record.

In the high jump, the Blue Raiders have been very competitive as the men had three top-10 finishers in Dyse Harding, Luis Groff, and Lorezo Luces their previous meet. Head Coach Anthony Thompson will have his team determined and to build on their success he has prepared them to be able to overcome any obstacles. Rosemond Owusu will also attempt to jump into another record as she competes in the hurdles event.

The Blue Raiders will be competing in the Commodore Challenge Saturday January 11 in Nashville, Tenn.
