COLUMBIA, Ky. – Following another long hiatus away from home, the Lindsey Wilson volleyball team is back in Biggers Sports Center at 7 p.m. CT on Wednesday, October 8 to host (RV) Cumberland (Tenn.) in a Mid-South Conference duel.

The Phoenix – 19-8, 3-1 MSC – started the year strong with seven wins in their first eight matches. In conference play, Cumberland won its first three matches before running into Cumberlands (Ky.) on October 4.

Against in-league opponents this season, Cumberland ranks first for service aces and blocks per set. Sophomore Lila Cade and senior Hazel Konkel head the Phoenix efforts in both of those categories. The latter of the two boasts a conference-best 95 blocks and ranks fifth in kills with 204 while hitting 0.365. Cade stands atop the Mid-South leaderboard for total kills at 305, and she holds that spot with a solid 0.268 attack percentage.

Lindsey Wilson's Ola Wyrzykowska and Petra Fernandez Garcia rank second and third, respectively, in kills, as they are both hitting plus-0.200 on the year. Last weekend, across matches at Bethel (Tenn.) and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), Wyrzykowska hit 0.214 and averaged 3.00 kills and 3.43 digs per set. Entering Wednesday, the senior sits 17 digs, and 27 kills shy of 1,000 each for her career.

Cumberland and the Lindsey Wilson last met on November 8, 2024, in the Mid-South Conference tournament semifinals. The Blue Raiders' victory in that match extended their winning streak against the Phoenix to five matches.

Wednesday's "Pink Out" begins at 5 p.m. CT with the junior varsity match, followed by the varsity match at 7 p.m. CT.
