COLUMBIA, Ky.- Lindsey Wilson sophomore Kairell Avery has been named to the 2026 Mid-South Conference Men's Track & Field Champions of Character Team, conference officials announced Monday.

The Evansville, Indiana native earned the honor for the first time in his career, becoming the seventh student-athlete in program history to receive the honor. 

Avery was nominated by his coaches based on what he provides in leadership around the campus and in the community as he represented the NAIA demonstrating the five core values.  

Other honorees include Bethel's (Tenn.) Hayden Padgett, Campbellsville's (Ky.) Isiah Bain, Cumberland's (Tenn.) Logan Istre, Cumberlands' (Ky.) Willy Mabena, Freed-Hardeman's (Tenn.) Jonah Gardner, and Georgetown's (Ky.) Zachary Mirones.
